The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) has developed a Data Quality Certification (DQC) program with specialized tracks for data entry personnel, data coordinators, program staff, and administrators. These tracks include instruction on general data quality practices and techniques, as well as intensive role-based training with the KSDE web-based applications, including the Kansas Individual Data on Students (KIDS) system, and their support resources.

We recommend that districts consider setting up "specialized" training for their staff involved in data entry and data coordination as well as administrators.  Although there are separate tracks for Data Coordinator/Data Entry staff and Administrators, if districts would like to do a combined training that includes both groups, we can accommodate such a request. It is incredibly helpful to have everyone in the room, on the same page, talking about data best practices, policies and procedures.
